X-Culture Project: Valuable Life Lessons

Hello, this is Colin Flabbi from Florida Tech here to talk a little bit about my X-Culture experience. I am currently a senior at Florida Tech studying Business Administration. I am also a student-athlete, which has made the project a little more difficult, but never the less it has been a great experience.

Up to this point the X-Culture Project has been quite the experience. Not only have I gotten to know people from all over the world, but also I have learned how to communicate and manage work with people I have no direct contact with. I think I have learned some very valuable life lessons that I will be able to apply down the road. I have been very fortunate to have been assigned to a group that has been very organized and understanding of schedule and time constraints. So far we have all worked extremely well with one another and all been very open to every opinion. When I first came into this project I had no idea what to expect. I thought it was going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. All it took was the initial establishment of each others emails and we were off and running with no problems at all. One of the group members was able to set a Facebook group for all of our initial brainstorming and communication. This turned out to be a great idea because many of the people in our group are on their Facebook more then they check their emails, which made the communication much easier. For me this took some adjusting because I am not one to use Facebook very often at all, but it was easy enough to check daily. Up to this point we have broken up all of the work and have begun the final paper. This has been a great experience that I feel very fortunate to have been included in and I look forward to staying in contact with all of the new people that I have met for this project.
