Embrace+

We all use mobile phones every day. Whether it’s an iPhone or an Android –we are constantly surrounded by this small device that allows us to stay connected to friends and family. The most annoying thing about this is missing someone’s call or message because your phone was away or on silent or lost somewhere in your huge handbag. You never know when people are texting. What if it’s something important?

A new project known as Embrace+ is basically an electronic bracelet that will be paired to your phone, perhaps through Bluetooth, and glow when you receive a message or call. The bracelet itself is a simple design which is soft and packed with two lights that will change color every time you have a notification. The bracelet is managed through an app that you download.

Embrace+ will support notifications from a number of applications including calls, texts, email, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Skype and more. They plan to support just about every major application used in social networking today. Each app will have its own color set custom by the user –virtually any color can be set. Settings will be saved under your profile and multiple profiles are available. So, you have one for school and one for work.

Embrace+ is still in its development stage and is not ready for sale. Developers are still waiting for a little more capital from interested users in order to go for mass production.

I think it’s a cool idea and device to have, but I don’t think I’ll be getting this one. I don’t like being tied to my phone so much. It’s nice to have time on your own and be away from all the technology. What do you think?
