Fellowships and scholarships abound for oceanography majors



Elizabeth Merton, an biological oceanography major, recently earned a $1,000 scholarship from the Cocoa Beach Sail and Power Squadron (CBSPS).  This funding will help her continue participating in her biological oceanography field projects. Holly Sweat, a doctoral oceanography student, was recently awarded a fellowship from the Save our Bay, Air and Canals/Waterways (SOBAC) Endowed Fellowship Fund. Holly will be using the funds towards her research on the recruitment of native and exotic marine species. Fun Fact: Holly is the director of DMES Marine and Environmental Summer Camp.
