Now is the time!

Welcome back international students!

The spring semester is in full swing and before you know it, it will be time for finals! That’s why you should start the semester off right and try your best not to procrastinate.

New and returning international students will have to go through the adaptation process of adjusting to a different culture coupled with the daily college grind. It may take weeks or months to fully acclimate, but don’t let that influence your studies. While getting accustomed to your new life, try to keep your studies your top priority. You are going to miss your family, just remember why you are here. Everything around you may seem strange and you may lose focus, but now is the time to start preparing for finals. I know it seems crazy to be thinking of finals so early in the semester but now is the time to start understanding the materials covered in your classes. Make flash cards and study guides as you learn the material, that way at the end of the semester you’ll already have the materials you need to streamline your studying.

If you feel stuck on the material you are learning, remember that the Academic Learning Center is there for you and offers tutoring free of charge! Be sure to follow their blog to keep up with all the resources and tips they offer. “Creating the Master Schedule” is an insightful overview of semester planning. If you haven’t done so, buy a weekly or monthly planner so you can keep up with your tasks.

Do not wait until the last minute to prepare yourself, now is the time to start dominating your final exams!
