Recently, some of our students enrolled in our logistics management master’s program were featured in the Fort Lee Traveller for their unique capstone project idea. Our students took the initiative and teamed up with the Richmond and Tri-Cities Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS) to help raise awareness for youth mentorship for the children of military families.

Together, they created Bowl for Kids’ Sake, a community outreach event aimed at bringing community members and mentors together.  The goal of the event was to raise awareness for BBBS and inspire new mentors to join the cause in a fun, easy-going atmosphere.

The logistics management students helped build teams, spread awareness and managed the backend logistics of the event.

The event was a great success and is just an example of the extraordinary things our students are empowered to accomplish while at Florida Tech.

You can connect with BBBS of Greater Richmond on Facebook and check out more photos from the event.
