Civil Engineering Grad on the Road to Success

Matthew Bolyard graduated from Florida Tech in 2003 with a degree in Civil Engineering and is currently a Project Manager for Southway Builders, Inc.

“Going to London for an elective class was fun, but definitely the most inspiring was winning the regional concrete canoe competition with the best teammates one could ever hope for.  What I like most about civil engineering is it’s probably the only major where you can walk into any room, or dive on any road, and know that a civil engineer had something to do with it.”

Florida Tech’s Civil Engineering program provides students with several hands on learning projects.  Some of them include the Steel Bridge Competition and the Concrete Canoe Competition.  To see what we’re talking about, check out some footage from past competitions.
