Biomedical engineering majors Nikolas Vieder ’22 and Sam Dorian ’20 recently took home the Gehring Award.
The Gehring Award recognizes Chi Phi fraternity chapters that embody the ethos of the national Chi Pi organization. Short- and long-term goals, philanthropy and community service impact, educational programming and alumni engagement are weighed as part of the selection process.
“I think that our chapter stood out from the other nominees because of our drive towards excellence for our brothers. We try to make the most of everything we do. We go above and beyond the award criteria in our efforts to make our brotherhood successful and happy,” Vieder says.
Vieder and Dorian found out their chapter won the award during a grand banquet at their national congress.
“It was an incredible moment, where all of our hard work came to fruition—in front of all of our peers, no less,” Vieder says.
This is the second year in a row that Florida Tech’s Chi Pi chapter took home the Gehring Award.
