Benjamin Kubwimana is a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Computer Science. He is originally from Kigali, Rwanda. Benjamin would ultimately like to specialize in car and jet engines and turbine designs. His co-op was completed at Hills Inc, where he operated and modified designs of fiber extrusion machines used for research and development. During his co-op, he learned that research is a strong tool which can be used to invent, innovate, and develop machine design technologies. Benjamin’s career goal is to join an engine manufacturing company and then return to his home country and start a pipe manufacturing company. His advice to students: co-ops are the best opportunities that students can use to explore their interests.
