In business, it’s important to listen closely. We usually learn something when we least expect it. Networking and talking to others is the best way to learn new things and gain a fresh perspective in business.
This week’s FLORIDA TODAY guest author Sylvia Garner, is the president of software development firm DragonPoint and has served as a board member and IGNITE mentor with the weVENTURE, discusses some of the most important business lessons she has learned (from teaching first and second graders!).
The advice seems simple, yet as adults in business we tend to overcomplicate things. What can children teach us in busines? Thinking outside the box sometimes means incorporating ideas that aren’t your own. Stop interrupting and listen. Catch your team doing something well and applaud hard work among the group.
